Catherine Richmond joined the firm in 2002 and is a member of the New Hampshire and Vermont Bar Associations. Cathy focuses her practice on assisting individuals and families in all aspects of estate planning including helping families plan for and cope with the loss of loved ones, wealth transfer strategies, charitable giving, generation skipping transfer tax planning, asset protection planning, family business and real estate succession planning, probate planning and estate and trust administration.

Cathy regularly speaks to groups, organizations and attorneys about all aspects of estate planning. She was an active member of the Joint Study Committee of the Vermont Bar Association and the Vermont Bankers Association that drafted the Vermont Trust Code, which was enacted into law on May 14, 2009 and authored The Uniform Trust Code. Clarifying and Codifying Vermont Trust Law, Vermont Bar Journal, 2008. She currently serves on the Vermont Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Probate Procedure and on the board of the Connecticut Valley Estate Planning Council.

Prior to attending law school, Cathy worked in the banking profession for ten years, culminating with a position as Vice President of lending and branch management in the Upper Valley for the former Marble Bank. She uses her prior banking and lending experience to help clients with regard to real estate and lending matters related to estate planning.

During law school, Cathy received academic excellence awards in Dispute Resolution, Bankruptcy, Federal Income Taxation and Securities Regulation and the Bankruptcy Medal of Excellence from the American Bankruptcy Institute. She was also a member of the Vermont Law Review.

A long-time resident of the Upper Valley and an avid runner, hiker, and skier. Currently she serves on the Board of the Montshire Museum of Science and served for many years on the Ford Sayre Memorial Ski Council, Inc. and is on the board of the Hanover Rotary Club. Cathy lives in Norwich, Vermont with her husband, Tom Fulton. They have two sons.
